The soft corals,
the crinoids, the underwater caves,
the walls, overhangs, gorgonian fans
and diverse fish life and the unbelievably
blue waters all add up to a diving
destination that is second to none.
Believe it, Vava'u in the wonderful
waters of Tonga, is a prime site.
Tonga is located
in the very heart of the South Pacific
lying east of Fiji and south of Samoa.
It is one of the most scenic and unspoiled
of the Pacific island nations.
Tonga has a NNE/SSW
orientation between latitudes 16oS
and 23oS and longitudes 173o40 W and
175o20 W. The 176 islands ranging
from high volcanic to low coral terrain
create scenic variety seldom matched
elsewhere in the world. The islands
are divided into four groups and bordered
on the east by the deep Tongan Trench.
Nuku'alofa, the capital,
is located on the main island of Tongatapu.
It is more developed than its neighbors
but still maintains an unhurried and
peaceful lifestyle.
Dolphin Pacific Diving
is based at the newest hotel in Vava’u
and the Commercial centre of the town.
The Puatakanave Hotel,
at the heart of the waterfront offers
accommodation for all budgets, from
back packer to deluxe rooms with an
inspiring view of Refuge Bay.
We would be
happy to arrange hotel accommodation
to your requirements either on the
main Island or for those that wish
to escape to the tranquillity of a
tropical island resort we recommend
some beautiful hideaways.
